Day Four Live: Broad Falls

Broad-Wicket

Broad finally falls after a partnership of 138 with Partner Bell. A shorter, wider delivery from Pattinson does the trick as Broad feathers an edge through to keeper Haddin. The lead in now 281 as Swann strides to the crease with Bell still unmoved on 101.

Sledging is a natural part of any Ashes game. So, in tribute to the Australian team, three lads from Gloucestershire have come in what they describe as the Australian national uniform! Tom Paterson, Jason Savage and Ronnie Freeman are regulars to Trent Bridge. “We come every year”  Ronnie said “The good thing about Trent Bridge is that everything is on the doorstep. We stay over and have a good night out.” They predict an England win  ”But not until tomorrow” says Tom.  ”We don’t want to go home too early!”conv1

Mementoes For A Memorable Test

shop1The Trent Bridge Cricket shop is a haven for anyone interested in cricket merchandise. The shop stocks official England merchandise, as well as products that are specific to Trent Bridge. John Ellison, the manager, and his team have had a really busy week. He told Brian Fairchild “Even if we have half decent day today, we will have sold over £100,000 worth of items by the end of  the Test.” Listen to find out what’s selling well.

It’s Awesome To Be Here!

That’s the view of Jacob Creed, aged 10, who is here today with his dad. They have both travelled in from Mansfield to see the game. “I came to see Nottinghamshire play here once, but that was when I was five”.  Jacob has got the autographs of most of the England team, and is seen here with Ashton Agar. “Kevin Pietersen is my hero”. When asked about yesterdays match, Jacob commented “It seemed a strange decision by the umpire”. A future match referee in the making perhaps?Day-4-8

Day Four Live: Welcome Back!

Ground-Day-4

As Trent Bridge gets ready for another day of high quality cricket, there are more milestones to look out for this morning. Broad will start the day just short of his half century on 47 whilst partner Bell is five away from completing a memorable hundred. This game is still some way away from its conclusion but the first hour could prove crucial to determining the final pattern of the game.
