They Come From A Land Down Under

Last weekend we watched as the fans of the British and Irish Lions took over Sydeny. It seems that one reason for the low number of Aussies at their home ground was that most were already here in England ahead of the series. Parts of the New Stand, Radclife Road, and Fox Stands are awash of baggy green and gold as Australia’s fans take over Trent Bridge.

Catching a few words with two couples we asked them about their tour. Robyn and Terry (pictured right) are on their third tour of England with Australian tour firm AST. Having arrived back at the end of June the couple have travelled around the UK visiting Hadrian’s Wall on the England/ Scotland border and Padstow in Cornwall and said that they are having a great time. The coupe will be here at Trent Bridge for the first test and then traveling onto Lords for the second test before flying home.

Suzette and Nev are on their first tour with their national side and are having a great time. Coming from the far north of Queensland, they had felt quite at home over the last few days with temperatures in the 30′s but todays weather down in the high teens/ low twenties has forced Suzette to come armed with her wooly hat. “This is the weather we get in the winter” she explained. “This is the weather we get in the summer” was my rather flip response.
