Reaction To Day Two So Far

Sam Sheringham BBC Sport
“There are flags flying in various corners of a sun-drenched Trent Bridge and they are all Australian. Mitchell Starc and James Pattinson have been bowling much more consistently than the first innings, building pressure by starving England of scoring shots. Wickets in successive balls brought Starc the ultimate reward, meaning for the third time in this barely believable Test match, we will have a hat-trick ball. Kevin Pietersen will be the man to face it. My, oh my.”

Phil Tufnell (BBC TMS)
“I’ve never wanted to see an Australian get a hundred but I was willing him on there. A great effort, amazing scenes. For sure it’s changed the momentum of the game but it shows the wicket is pretty flat.”

Day Two Live: Media Reaction

Anderson2

Sam Sheringham, BBC Sport
“The Australian fans in the New Stand had been lapping things up this morning, rising to their feet in unison and cheering every run. Not surprisingly, that quick bang-bang of wickets has somewhat dampened their spirits.”
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/232617

Sky Sports Commentary
“This is insane. For 35 minutes, nothing remotely encouraging happened for England. Ten minutes later, three Australian wickets have fallen. Hint of reverse here, and Siddle edges low to the right of Prior, who takes a smart one-handed catch.”

Malcolm Conn, Herald Sun Melbourne
Paranoia and confusion surrounds Shane Watson’s latest breakdown, which may force Cricket Australia to reconsider sending David Warner on the Australia A tour of southern Africa.

At #TrentBridge, at the #ashes!!! Incredible atmosphere

@XCricket1999

#RISE England definitely on top after yesterdays success, AUS need a to imply some stability into their chase.

My boy Hughesy will be very happy theres no Freddy Flintoff this time round. #TheAshes #englandvsaustralia #england #trentbridge

Ideal scenario today would be bowl them out for under 200, bat for a day and a half and use the last few days to knock em over #theashes

Nottingham is looking awesome #TheAshes #worldsbestcity
