Day Four Live: Welcome Back!

Ground-Day-4

As Trent Bridge gets ready for another day of high quality cricket, there are more milestones to look out for this morning. Broad will start the day just short of his half century on 47 whilst partner Bell is five away from completing a memorable hundred. This game is still some way away from its conclusion but the first hour could prove crucial to determining the final pattern of the game.

Actors Spin A Tale Of The Ashes

Act1

If you’re at Trent Bridge today for the 4th day of the Ashes Test you may be in for a bit of a history lesson. Actors will be wandering around telling tales of Trent Bridge and Ashes history. If you see them do feel free to join in, they welcome participation and if you’ve seen the cucumber sandwiches, please let the Wives of William Clarke know!

Celebrate Nottinghamshire!

That’s the advice from Councillor John Allin, the Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council when visiting the Test Match today.

“The county has so much to offer visitors,” he told us. “There is Sherwood forest, the Robin Hood festival, Rufford Park, Wollaton Park (where the latest Batman movie was filmed) and Nottingham Castle. Anyone visiting the area should try  to get to one of these.”

He added “Hosting the Ashes here means so much for the local economy.  All the local restaurants, bars and hotels are full.  I’m enjoying my day here at the cricket, and I hope all our visitors are as well”.

Day Three Live: Controversy Finds Agar Again

Bell-Day-3

A day after his swashbuckling 98, in which he looked to have been stumped for 6, controversy found youngster Ashton Agar again. This time it was when he was bowling as Broad seemed to edge to slip only not to be given out. The tourists were furious but the English fans loved it and the lead is now up to 244. Broad remains on 40 whilst Bell has made his way to 85.
