50 overs into the first day of the first test at Trent Bridge and it seems to be Australian Peter Siddle who is putting in the most memorable performance of the match so far. After taking 5 wickets he seems to have a taste for tearing his way through the English Batsmen.

With Notts’ own Stuart Broad and his current partner in the crease Jonny Bairstow seeing England through to the end of the afternoon session it will be nice to see if they can both come out and do their best not to reflect the bad luck of Kevin Pietersen at what was an unlucky spout of play just after the first break in the play.

The travelling support seems to be rallying around their team with great energy and passion, something the Barmy Army will be sure to compete with towards the end of play to help lift the slowly diminishing spirit of the English support. It sure is proving not to be the whitewash so many home fans were anticipating that’s for sure.
